LOCATIONS

Location scouts and companies that we regularly use are listed in the Black Book. SmugMug is the preferred software for presenting locations. Alternatively the Creative Blood Location Template (located on Dropbox under templates) can be used if the client requests to see the locations in a PDF.

Permits:

Anywhere in LA city (private or public) requires a permit from the CFC (California Film Commission) . Never assume you won’t need a permit.

Timing depends which City in LA you are in. Please check deadlines and fees with your permitting company during pre-production.

Please liaise with your location scout, client, photographer/director and talent management to confirm what level of traffic management and security is needed for your shoot.

A permit should be issued the day before the start of your activity at the latest, once all required documents and approvals have been received.

Private locations:

A ‘Location agreement form’ can be found on Dropbox- CONTRACTS AND LEGAL DOCUMENTS. Please us the standard CB agreement as long as possible. If a location requires CB to sign a different form, send it to Carrie Heather before signing it off.

STUDIOS:

A studio without a Fire Certificate is considered a location, and therefore a film permit & relevant insurance must be applied for.
